Pune, May 2 (PTI) Local wild card Bela Tamhankar outplayed Arthi Muniyan in straight sets to enter the quarterfinals of the USD 3,000 FinIQATT Asian Ranking Women's Tennis Championships here Thursday.
Bela, a junior, won 6-4 6-3. She had shocked second seeded Srinidhi Sridhar 6-1, 6-3 Wednesday.
Top seeded Sai Samhitha Chamarthi, Riya Uboveja, Nidhi Chilumula, Vanshita Pathaniya, Soha Sadiq, Prathiba Narayan Prasad and Vaidehi Chaudhari were the other players to make it to the last eight stage.
The results (2nd round): Sai Samhitha Chamarthi bt Avika Sagwal 6-1, 6-2; Riya Uboveja bt (Q) Aalyka Ebrahim 6-0, 6-0; Nidhi Chilumula bt Shrivalli Bhamidipaty 6-1, 6-2; Vanshita Pathaniya bt (WC) Aaliya Ebhrahim 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5).
