Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a voluntary recall for its flagship CB1000 Hornet SP motorcycle to address potential technical defects. The recall affects units manufactured between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025. According to the company, the campaign focuses on two primary concerns: the routing of the fuel feed hose and inconsistent engine oil consumption levels. HMSI has stated that these inspections and any subsequent repairs will be conducted free of charge for all affected owners.

The recall identifies a specific issue with the fuel feed hose routing, which may require repositioning to ensure it remains secure under various riding conditions. Additionally, the company is investigating reports of varying engine oil consumption. Honda noted that certain engine components might lead to higher-than-expected oil usage, potentially impacting the long-term performance and health of the 999cc engine if left unaddressed. Royal Enfield Sales Surge 31% YoY in April 2026 as Brand Enters EV Market.
As a precautionary measure, authorised BigWing Topline dealerships across India will inspect the affected motorcycles. Depending on the findings, technicians will either rectify the hose routing or replace specific engine components to maintain optimal performance standards.
Honda Recall Inspection and Rectification Process
HMSI has confirmed that all corrective actions will be performed at no cost to the customer, regardless of the vehicle's current warranty status. The company’s BigWing Topline dealers are currently in the process of notifying owners via telephone, email, or SMS. To streamline the process and minimise waiting times, Honda has advised customers to book service appointments in advance.
