Instagram can be a boon or a bane to this generation. Celebs, especially, are always experiencing both the sides of the social media giant. The celebs getting trolled for the outfits they choose to wear is a scary yet common practice now. While some of them choose to ignore the faceless trolls, others get back to them fiercely. The recent incident was that of Satyameva Jayate actress Aisha Sharma getting slut-shamed. The stunning diva wore a see-through backless jumpsuit. In no time, the followers jumped in to voice their opinion on her outfit. Now, it is not a new thing when the celebs have to face such moral and fashion police. However, what Aisha witnessed in the comments was rather terrible and she boldly called out the haters.

She shared the screenshots of the comments that were fired at her by the trolls. It is indeed appalling to see what the celebs have to face online on daily basis. However, along with these screenshots and her picture in that outfit, she also shared a powerful message.

An excerpt from Aisha’s post reads, “You don’t like what I’m wearing or wouldn’t wear it yourself that’s perfectly ok ; however making accusations about my (or anyone’s) character and morales based on the way they dress is beyond ridiculous. A girl can still be ‘available and easy’ wearing a sari. Your comments are clearly a lashing out from some kind of anger you are feeling deep inside. Your comments about my body is a reflection of an insecurity about yours. Swipe right for context : To say that what a woman wears is an insight into her looseness and availability is grossly irresponsible of you. No wonder so many men in our country commit such heinous crimes towards women and treat us as objects when people have attitudes such as this. I wear and should be able to wear what I want without people making assumptions about me. It is indeed a courageous step that the star took. While these trolls actually don’t deserve any explanation, it is sometimes necessary that it is a free country and we can wear whatever we want.
