Joaquin Phoenix's Joker has undoubtedly been one of the biggest films of the year. The film managed to leave audiences as well as critics impressed and managed to perform exceptionally well at the box office globally. The R-rated film set some big milestones and here's yet another addition to that list. Among other box office records that the film has created, it also became the biggest October opening weekend in movie history as it collected $93.5 million across its first three days in wide release. The Oscar hopeful became a rage ever since its trailers featuring Phoenix as the comic book history's deadliest villains was released. The DC movie received immense praises for the actor's performance who is expected to be an Academy Award nominee for the same.

As for Warner Bros this the seventh film to cross $1 billion behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($1.34B), Aquaman ($1.148B), Lord of the Rings: Return of the King ($1.12B), Dark Knight Rises ($1.08B), Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey ($1.01B), and Dark Knight ($1B) as reported by Deadline.
