The trailer of Michael B Jordan's upcoming legal drama, Just Mercy is here and it looks quite impressive. The film is based on a true story and is an adaptation of Bryan Stevenson’s best-selling memoir, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film revolves around the early days of Stevenson’s Equal Justice Initiative, where he defended wrongfully incarcerated death-row inmates. Ahead of the film's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, the makers have now released a first trailer of the film. 'Black Panther' Sequel Coming in 2022, Ryan Coogler Returning as Director.

Jordan stars as the lawyer determined to make a difference. He plays Stevenson, a young Harvard Law graduate who takes on a case in Alabama where Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx), has been imprisoned for murder despite having evidence proving his innocence. The trailer shows Jordan giving Foxx's McMillian the confidence that he will fight for him, right till the end. We also see Brie Larson as local advocate Eva Ansley.

The film traces how McMillian's conviction was a racist controversy that Stevenson uncovered whilst working on the case. Looking at Michael B Jordan's filmography, it is amazing how skilfully he goes from pulling off action roles in Black Panther and Creed series to something as potent as Just Mercy. The film is being produced by Warner Brothers and is all set to release in December.
