“I love Marvel and I love the movies and I’d love the excuse to get in shape,” he told Variety. “I’d love to be a part of it, whether [Wolverine] is realistic or not, I don’t know.” For about 17 years, the role of Wolverine was played by Hugh Jackman across nine films that were released under the 20th Century Fox backdrop. However, with Wolverine's death in Logan, one of the best X-Men movies till date, the makers opened a new slate of possibilities and opportunities to explore. Also, not to mention how Disney's acquisition of Fox did go through which means the mutants, who, despite being part of Marvel, weren't technically part of the wing, will finally reunite with the rest of the MCU heroes.

Talking about Egerton's possible step to play Wolverine, his Rocketman co-star and Fantastic Four alum, Jamie Bell, stated, “He can play Elton John, why not? It’s the natural next step. I’m sure he’d love to. Taron’s great. Working with Taron, I’m not entirely sure what he can’t do, so I’m sure he could probably do it — another string to his bow, as it were.” We too agree with this statement!
