Television actor Rohit Chandel, popularly known for his role in Pandya Store, has been arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly stalking, repeatedly calling, harassing, and assaulting a 16-year-old girl in an eastern suburb. A case has been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Chandel, 29, is known for playing Baji Rao in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal and Dhawal Makwana in Pandya Store. He was most recently seen on the TV show Sairaab.
Charges Filed Against The Actor

According to a report by The Times of India, Chandel was arrested from his Dahisar residence on Friday and was later produced before a special POCSO court, which remanded him to police custody.
What The Complaint Alleges

The complaint further stated that on July 5, Chandel allegedly confronted the girl near her residential building, chased her, picked an argument, abused her, and assaulted her by hitting her with his hands. Police said the accused and the minor were known to each other.
Investigation Underway
Speaking about the case, a police official said a case was registered following the complaint and the accused has been placed under arrest, with further investigation currently underway.
The actor has not yet reacted to the allegations.
