The release schedule for superstar Prabhas’s highly anticipated period action drama Fauzi appears to be shifting. Initially slated for a global theatrical debut on December 3, 2026, the ambitious film is now expected to miss its original date due to extensive post-production requirements. Industry reports indicate that the makers are currently evaluating a revised release window in early 2027 to ensure the project meets its high visual standards. Prabhas’ ‘Spirit’ To Get ‘A’ Certificate, Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Drops Big Update.

Prabhas' ‘Fauzi’ to Release in February 2027?

According to a report by Telugu360, production house Mythri Movie Makers is considering postponing the film's theatrical arrival to February 2027. While initial speculation suggested a Republic Day release on January 26, 2027, the congested festival calendar and potential clashes with major Sankranti releases presented severe distribution challenges in key territories.

February 2027 has emerged as the preferred target as it provides an uncluttered box-office window. Furthermore, pushing the film to February avoids a direct collision with Prabhas’s other major upcoming project, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, which is locked for a March 2027 release. Discussions regarding revised streaming schedules and windowing agreements with digital partner Netflix are currently ongoing, though the production house has yet to issue an official confirmation.

Extensive VFX Work and Production Delays

The primary driver behind the delay is the sheer scale of the production. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for his meticulous detail in Sita Ramam, Fauzi is set against the backdrop of 1940s pre-Independence India. The film involves elaborate historical set pieces, complex action sequences, and heavy visual effects (VFX) work that require substantial rendering and editing time.

With significant post-production work still remaining, the creative team has chosen to prioritise visual quality over rushing to hit the December deadline.
