Talking about this project Venkat Prabhu confirmed, “It will definitely not be a horror film,” reports TOI. He also shared, “We have been talking about doing a project for a while though we couldn’t zero in on the right script. Eventually, I worked on an idea and Lawrence liked it. I wanted to show him in a different light, in a way that audiences have not seen him before. All I can say for now is that it will be an out-and-out entertainer... a new genre for me, too.”

Venkat Prabhu’s last directorial project was Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings, which released in 2016. Meanwhile, Raghava Lawrence is busy with his next directorial project - Laxmmi Bomb – remake of Muni 2: Kanchana. This would also mark his directorial debut in Bollywood. Laxmmi Bomb stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead role. The film is scheduled to release in May 2020.
