Mumbai, October 5: The popular Indian television show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 10 hosted by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is amongst the top 10 TV shows. Out of the 10 seasons, Bachchan hosted nine of them, while the third edition of the show is hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. The show is based on the British program Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The first three seasons of the KBC was aired on Star Plus, and from 2010 onwards, the show has been airing on Sony TV and produced by Big Synergy. Harshvardhan Navate was the first winner of the show. In the fifth season, the KBC introduced a play at home segment called "Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot".
The 10th edition of the started airing on Sony TV from September 3, while the registrations began from June 6, 2018. The prize money in this edition of the KBC is Rs 7 crore. In this particular season, the Phone-a-friend lifeline was replaced with the Ask The Expert lifeline. The candidates have to send SMS to answer questions to register themselves for the show. After the registration, the candidates undergo a series of interviews to qualify for the ‘fastest finger first’ round. In this round, the selected candidates are called on the show where they have to arrange options in a correct sequence and that too in the least possible time. The final candidate selected by the computer plays KBC with the Bollywood star.
The 10th season got its first Crorepati from Assam. Binita Jain who is a teacher by profession won Rs 1 crore. Binita’s husband was abducted by the militants and never returned home. To tun her family she started taking tuitions. She used all the four lifelines before reaching the question for Rs 1 crore. She was not sure about the last question so she quitted the show. But she chose the right answer for Rs 7 crore question.
