The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) across the nation are all set to begin their campus placement from tomorrow, November 30. This year’s recruitment is likely to grow better than previous years. According to reports, at IIT Bombay alone around 385 companies have registered, a significant rise in the number as compared to last year’s 304. IITians are all nervous and excited at the same time because they are to sit in front of coveted United States companies like Rubrik, Microsoft and BNY Mellon. Many global companies for the first time are also participating in this year’s placement process, the majority of them being from Japan and Europe. Two Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have already hired students from the campus. This time, a number of pre-placement offers went up to 167 from last year’s 100. Explaining the process, the office told TOI, “The best of three test scores will be share with firms. The test will be set, monitored and evaluated by a faculty team. It was prepared and structured based on the experience of various company tests.”

In 2017, 75 International offers were made to the IIT Bombay students. Japanese companies are picking students from the Indian campuses since quite a few years, and the number is only increasing. The European companies are also on the rise and are expected to boost the number this time.
