NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Results Out: 11.21 Lakh Candidates Qualify; Check Toppers, Cut-Offs, Scorecard Download Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday, July 16, declared the NEET UG 2026 re-exam results, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses across India. The results were announced on schedule to keep the medical admissions and counselling process on track. Candidates can now download their scorecards from the official website.

Along with the results, the NTA has released the All India Rank (AIR) list, state toppers, category-wise toppers, qualifying cut-offs and language-wise participation details. The agency has also advised candidates to rely only on official websites for counselling updates and avoid fraudulent admission offers.

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Results Out

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination was conducted on June 21 across 5,440 examination centres in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Urdu.

Among the successful candidates, more than 58 per cent are women, with female candidates recording a higher qualification rate than male candidates.

The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana.

According to the NTA:

  • 19 candidates scored above 700 marks
  • 138 candidates secured more than 690 marks
  • 1,492 candidates scored 650 or above
  • 10,160 candidates scored 600 or above
  • 90,780 candidates obtained 500 or more marks

The NTA said over 93 per cent of the top 138 performers were first-time NEET candidates, while nearly all of them were between 17 and 19 years of age.

Qualified candidates emerged from all 36 States and Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates with over 1.7 lakh, while Lakshadweep had 43 qualified candidates.

The agency also said 17 state toppers scored 700 marks or above, while 26 state toppers secured more than 690 marks.

Category-Wise Qualified Candidates

The NTA released the number of qualified candidates across major categories:

  • General: 2.91 lakh
  • OBC-NCL: 5.12 lakh
  • SC: 1.59 lakh
  • ST: 63,716
  • Gen-EWS: 95,026
  • PwBD: 3,666
  • PwD: 303

The category-wise qualifying percentile and cut-off marks have also been published along with the results.

Physics Answer Key Revision

The results were announced a day after the NTA released the final answer key. Earlier, the agency revised two Physics questions by dropping one question and accepting two correct answers for another, resulting in eight bonus marks being awarded to all candidates in accordance with the evaluation policy.

The examination timeline included the release of the provisional answer key on June 25, OMR response sheets between July 13 and July 15, the final answer key on July 16, followed by the declaration of results on the same day.

Counselling Process Begins Next

With the results now declared, qualified candidates will proceed to the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes.

Counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the remaining state quota seats will be filled through the respective state counselling authorities.

The NTA has urged candidates to use only official websites for counselling-related information and remain cautious of fake admission offers or communications seeking money or personal credentials.
