Bharat Taxi Pune Fares: Check Auto, Hatchback, Sedan and SUV Rates After Launch
Bharat Taxi has started operations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad with fixed fares and no surge pricing during rain or high-demand periods. The driver-owned cab service offers rates from Rs 18/km for autos to INR 32/km for SUVs and follows a zero-commission model. With 35,000 drivers onboarded, the platform aims to compete with Ola, Uber and Rapido.
Bharat Taxi, a cooperative-led and driver-owned cab service, has started operations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, offering commuters fixed fares without surge pricing during rain, festivals or periods of high demand. The service aims to provide an alternative to existing ride-hailing platforms such as Ola, Uber and Rapido by using a zero-commission model for drivers.
The rollout in Pune follows trial operations that began in Mumbai on May 25 and Pune on June 26. The service was formally launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Navi Mumbai International Airport on July 23. Bharat Taxi Pune Fares: Fixed Rates Without Surge Pricing
Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms that often increase fares during peak demand, Bharat Taxi has introduced fixed pricing throughout the day.
The company said fares will increase only by 10 per cent during designated peak hours:
- Morning peak: 8:30 am to 10:30 am
- Evening peak: 5:15 pm to 7:45 pm
The platform has fixed both minimum and maximum fare limits in line with Regional Transport Office (RTO) rates.

The company said the fixed fare structure is designed to provide predictable pricing for passengers while protecting driver earnings.
How Bharat Taxi Differs From Ola, Uber and Rapido
Bharat Taxi follows a driver-owned cooperative model instead of the conventional aggregator structure. Around 35,000 drivers have been onboarded under the platform's zero-commission system, meaning drivers do not pay a percentage of their earnings to the company.
The fares were finalised after discussions with drivers and are aligned with RTO guidelines. The cooperative model allows drivers to become stakeholders rather than operating only as gig workers on the platform.
Airport Pickup and Pune-Mumbai Service Planned
Bharat Taxi is also in discussions with airport authorities to establish a pickup booth and deposit arrangement at Pune airport's Aeromall. The company is expected to begin airport operations soon.
It has also launched a Pune-Mumbai intercity service with fixed fares:

- Sedan: INR 23/km
- SUV: INR 30/km
The service is operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd (STCL) in partnership with the National Cooperative Development Corporation. The initiative has received support from cooperative institutions including Amul and NABARD. With its entry into Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bharat Taxi is positioning itself as a cooperative-based alternative in India's growing app-based mobility sector.
