Bihar: Woman Carrying Infant Dies After Jumping in Front of Speeding Train, Child Survives

Patna, September 6: In a tragic incident, a woman in Bihar died after she jumped in front of the speeding train near Darbhanga station on Friday. Reports inform that the woman, carrying her infant daughter, jumped in front of the speeding Bihar Sampark Kranti Express. The baby, however, escaped the fatal incident miraculously. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was clad in a red saree. The report informs that the Railway police recovered the baby safely from the railway tracks. The woman’s body has been sent for autopsy and she is yet to be identified. According to details by Police, the RPF posted at Darbhanga junction said that as soon as New Delhi bound Bihar Sampark Kranti approached Gumti, a woman wearing in a red saree, with a child jumped before the running train. The official informed that the 6-month-old baby, who fell on the track, was rescued instantly and handed over to child care organisation. The report informs that the baby is in good condition. The Police said if anyone comes forward to identify the deceased woman and identifies the baby, they will hand her over to them after mandatory verification. If no person comes to claim, the infant will be handed over to a child care home.
