CA Kidnapping in Jaipur: Accused Flee as Mercedes Crashes Into Drain After Hitting Bike

A 50-year-old chartered accountant in Jaipur escaped an abduction attempt on Thursday morning after his abductors lost control of his Mercedes-Benz, colliding with a motorcycle before crashing into a roadside drain near Amer. The two unidentified suspects fled the scene on foot, prompting a widespread police manhunt across the city.

The incident occurred around 7:30 AM outside Central Park, where the victim, Rajiv Gupta, had just finished his morning walk. According to police, two young men aged between 25 and 30 approached Gupta as he returned to his vehicle. Threatening him with a knife and an imitation firearm, the assailants forced Gupta into the passenger seat and took control of the luxury sedan, heading toward Amer Road via Delhi Highway. During the drive, the abductors struggled to operate the high-end vehicle, repeatedly questioning Gupta about its electronic controls and functions. As the speeding car approached the Peeli Ki Talai junction, Gupta made a desperate bid to break free by opening the door of the moving car, dangling his legs outside, and shouting for help.

The commotion distracted the driver, causing the vehicle to strike a passing motorcyclist before plunging into a roadside ditch and overturning. Following the crash, the suspects managed to crawl out of the damaged vehicle and escaped into the nearby hills before law enforcement arrived. Local residents initially mistook Gupta for the driver responsible for the collision, but police quickly intervened, rescued him from the crowd, and confirmed his identity as the victim.

The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where officials reported his condition as stable. Police recovered a dummy pistol and a knife from inside the damaged Mercedes, which was later retrieved from the drain using a crane. Officials from the Ashok Nagar and Amer police stations have registered a case involving charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.
