Cockroach Janata Party Announces 'Kya Bolti Public' Nationwide Campaign (Watch Video)
The Cockroach Janata Party announced a nationwide outreach tour, 'Kya Bolti Public', beginning this September. Founder Abhijeet Dipke confirmed the group will operate as a secular pressure group rather than a formal political party. The move follows their recent NEET-UG protests and includes the appointment of a new national leadership team to guide expansion.
Following its high-profile demonstrations in New Delhi over the NEET paper leak controversy, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced on Thursday, August 6, that it will launch a nationwide grassroots outreach tour titled "Kya Bolti Public" beginning in September 2026. Addressing a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke stated that the movement will remain grounded in constitutional principles, drawing inspiration from the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, B.R. Ambedkar, and Jawaharlal Nehru to champion social justice and secularism. "CJP will be guided by the ideals of Jawaharlal Nehru, Ambedkar, and Gandhi; we are secular, and we will work towards social justice," Dipke said.
Focusing on Grassroots Voices
The upcoming nationwide tour aims to shift political focus back to everyday citizens. Dipke noted that the initiative is a direct response to public engagement following their recent protests, emphasising that public grievances must be addressed proactively. Cockroach Janta Party Announces National Working Committee, Abhijeet Dipke To Lead As Convener; Check All Names Here.

"The public needs to voice their opinions, and it's time to listen to their voice. If you don't listen, the public will take to the streets," Dipke said. He added that the movement emerged from widespread public interest in the group's trajectory after the Jantar Mantar demonstrations. "I am happy to share that many people have been messaging and commenting, asking what we'll do next. We are making an announcement: in September, the Cockroach Janata Party will launch a nationwide campaign," he noted.
Critique of Democratic Institutions
"It will be a nationwide tour called 'Kya Bolti Public.' Because what's needed now is to talk about the public; the public needs to voice their opinions, and it's time to listen to their voice. If you don't listen, the public will take to the streets," he added. During the briefing, Dipke raised concerns regarding the current state of democratic accountability in India, specifically pointing to the Election Commission and warning against potential electoral manipulation.
"Institutional accountability is in a dangerous situation in our country today. This is a dangerous sign for our democracy. Earlier, voters used to choose a government. Today, the government is deciding who will vote. Democracy cannot work like this. We have to fix the accountability of the Election Commission. Until we do this, election manipulation will continue in the country," he said. Dipke also cautioned against viewing single leaders as absolute solutions to systemic issues. "I want to say that if you think one person can solve everything, that's not how it works. Anyone telling you they can solve all problems is lying, and we saw the biggest example of this in 2014," he stated. What Is a Pressure Group? Abhijeet Dipke Explains Why CJP Chose This Path (Video).
Rejecting Formal Political Party Status
Addressing speculation regarding the group's future structure, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das confirmed that the collective will not contest elections or register as a traditional political party, citing the current national climate as unsuited for such a transition. "We are not forming a political party; we will operate solely as a pressure group," Das said.
"We know that younger people want the Cockroach Janata Party to become a political party, but at this time, with the situation in the nation right now, creating a new political party would not be beneficial," he added. Alongside the campaign details, the CJP formally outlined its organisational leadership structure, confirming Abhijeet Dipke as Convener, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das as Co-conveners, and Deepak Baliyan as Co-in-charge.
