New Delhi, March 11: An moderate-intensity earthquake hit Andaman Islands region on Monday morning. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook the Andaman Islands region at 6:44 am.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.8, Occurred on:11-03-2019,06:44:30 IST, Lat:11.9 N & Long: 93.6 E, Depth: 95 Km Region:Andaman Islands Region," IMD (Earthquake) tweeted. Earthquake in Palghar: Series of Tremors Shakes Maharashtra District Again.

There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property. Further details were awaited.
