One primary complaint stems from a November 2024 incident where Ghosh and his associates allegedly used physical violence to forcefully snatch a winning lottery ticket worth ₹1 crore from a local resident. He is also being investigated for his alleged involvement in post-poll violence.
The legal troubles have simultaneously intensified for his father, former Panihati legislator Nirmal Ghosh, who faces separate complaints of extortion and corruption.
