Mumbai's Ganeshotsav has entered its major immersion phase, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issuing detailed guidelines for public Ganesh mandals and devotees covering cleanliness, fire safety, food hygiene, noise pollution, nirmalya disposal and eco-friendly visarjan. BMC Guidelines for Ganesh Mandals 2026

The BMC has asked public Ganesh mandals to maintain cleanliness around pandals and ensure that celebrations do not create avoidable inconvenience for citizens.

Mandals have been specifically advised not to store inflammable materials inside pandal premises and to keep appropriate fire-prevention equipment readily available. The civic body has also stressed compliance with applicable noise-pollution rules.

Mandals are also expected to follow instructions issued by the BMC and Mumbai Police during processions and immersion activities.
