Following the attack, a Forest Department team reached the area and began efforts to locate and trap the leopard. Eight cages have been placed at different locations around the vicinity in an attempt to capture the animal. The incident has raised concern among residents of Dedkiyal and surrounding areas, particularly because the attack occurred close to a farm where people live and work. Local reports said residents and the victim’s family searched for the girl after the attack before her body was found.
