Gurugram: Denso Employee Dies by Suicide by Hanging Self, Minor Son Records Act

A 36-year-old associate operator at a multinational company was found hanging at his residence in Gurugram’s Surat Nagar on Thursday, July 30, with police detaining his wife after the deceased’s family alleged foul play and claimed she had been seeking a divorce.

The incident came to light when Sanjeev Yadav, a native of Amritsar and employee at Denso in Gurugram, was discovered inside his home with only his wife, Manpreet Kaur, and their seven-year-old son present. Family Alleges Marital Discord, Questions Suicide Theory

Sanjeev’s sister, Kiran, alleged that there had been ongoing disputes between her brother and his wife and claimed that Manpreet had been seeking a divorce. “My brother did not die by suicide," she alleged, insisting that investigators examine every aspect of the case.

Sanjeev’s father, Ramsevak Yadav, also expressed suspicion over the circumstances of his son’s death. According to news agency PTI, he claimed that disputes between the couple had been continuing for some time and alleged that his daughter-in-law had conspired with accomplices to murder Sanjeev.

Love Marriage After Meeting At Workplace

According to the police, Sanjeev and Manpreet Kaur, who is a resident of Ambala, first met around eight years ago while both were working at Denso in Gurugram. Their friendship eventually developed into a relationship, and the couple solemnised their marriage on April 29, 2018, police said.

The couple welcomed a son in 2019, following which Manpreet quit her job. Sanjeev continued working in Gurugram, and the family lived together in Surat Nagar.

Police said that immediately after discovering Sanjeev hanging, Manpreet informed both her own family members and Sanjeev’s parents about the incident.

Police said Sanjeev’s body was sent for post-mortem examination before being handed over to his family. Sub-inspector Mahender Singh, the investigating officer, said police were not ruling out any possibility and were examining the case from every angle.

“We handed over the body to kin after the postmortem and are investigating from every angle. The post-mortem report of the deceased is awaited, which will reveal the exact cause of death, and action will be taken as per the law," Singh said.

Police said the findings of the post-mortem report will help establish the exact cause of death, following which further legal action will be taken in accordance with the law. Acting on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s family, police detained Manpreet Kaur and initiated an investigation into the allegations.
