Gurugram: Woman Dies After Falling From 3rd Floor of High-Rise; Husband Booked Over Domestic Violence Charges
A woman identified as Deepa died after falling from the third floor of Tower 8 at MVN Society in Gurugram’s Sohna area. Police shifted her body to Sohna Civil Hospital for an autopsy. Following a complaint from her father alleging prolonged domestic violence and drunken assaults by her husband, Jatin, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
A woman died after allegedly falling from the third floor of a high-rise residential building in Gurugram’s Sohna area, police said. The incident was reported from Tower 8 of MVN Society located on the Sohna-Dohla Road. The deceased was identified as Deepa, wife of Jatin, a former joint secretary of the residential society.
The sudden fall caused immediate panic among residents, who alerted local law enforcement. Responding teams recovered Deepa’s body and shifted it to the mortuary at Sohna Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination to establish the precise cause of death. Family Alleges Assault and Prolonged Harassment
Following the incident, Deepa’s family approached the police, alleging that she faced prolonged domestic violence and mental harassment by her husband. According to her family, Jatin frequently returned home drunk and allegedly assaulted her.
The family also alleged that frequent quarrels and continued harassment had left Deepa under severe mental distress, claiming the persistent mistreatment drove her to take the fatal step. According to relatives, the couple had been married for around eight years, with marital disputes escalating in recent months.
Based on a formal complaint filed by Deepa’s father, police registered a case against her husband. The exact sections of the case were not immediately available as investigators commenced preliminary paperwork.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Deepa’s death. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation and the post-mortem report.
