The famed Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala's Thrissur district is preparing to host over 400 weddings on September 13, with 409 ceremonies already booked as auspicious dates draw large numbers of families. The date marks the final Sunday of the Malayalam month of Chingam, a period traditionally considered highly auspicious for marriages. Temple authorities noted that the final tally could climb even higher, as bookings remain open until the eve of the ceremonies.

Additional police personnel are being deployed both inside and outside the shrine, as well as across the broader temple town. Furthermore, surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras across the precinct, will operate round-the-clock, with authorities warning of strict legal action against any anti-social activity. Logistical Arrangements for Wedding Ceremonies

Given the massive volume of scheduled events, ceremonies will commence early in the morning. "Weddings will begin from 4 am to ensure their timely completion. A traditional musical ensemble will also be stationed near the venue. Devaswom chairman A V Gopinath and administrator S Harigopal have appealed for public cooperation to maintain smooth operations for both the wedding parties and general pilgrims. The upcoming rush follows heavy visitor turnouts earlier in the season, which saw more than 1.5 lakh devotees visit the shrine during Ashtami Rohini, alongside approximately 50,000 participants joining the special prasada oottu feast.
