‘Hum Hindu’ Chief Ajay Gautam Covers Eyes on Seeing Muslim TV Anchor During 'Zomato Incident' Debate; Here’s What Twitteratti Has to Say on Viral Video

New Delhi, July 2: In a bizarre incident, founder of right-wing organisation 'Hum Hindu', Ajay Gautam covered his eyes on a live television show seeing a 'Muslim' news anchor. The incident took place when Ajay Gautam was invited to a debate on News24 on the Zomato incident. During the debate, Gautam covered his eyes and refused to look at a Muslim anchor. Hum Hindu's website ajay-gautam.com has written on its website, with “the sole objective of complete Swaraj, absolute Hindu Rashtra.”

In the video uploaded by News24 on its youtube page, the incident was edited. However, a short clip was uploaded later. The clip has been going viral on social media, especially on Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp, where netizens slammed 'Hum Hindu' founder for his actions.

"We at the newsroom of @news24tvchannel are in shock at the inappropriate & condemnable behaviour of Mr Ajay Gautam. Ethics of journalism do not allow to give platform to such devisive voices & gestures . @news24tvchannel has decided not to invite Mr Ajay Gautam to its studio," media entrepreneur Anurradha Prasad said.
