A two-year-old girl, Misha, died after allegedly consuming a gold-testing chemical at a jewellery store in Hyderabad's Chintal, Jeedimetla, where her parents had taken her for festival shopping. A two-year-old girl died after allegedly consuming a chemical used for testing gold at a jewellery store in Chintal, Jeedimetla, where her parents had taken her to buy gold for the festival. The child, Misha, was the daughter of Gopikrishna and Janaki, residents of Chintal.

According to the police and the family, the couple had visited the jewellery store with their daughter three days ago when the incident occurred, Telangana Today reported. While her parents were looking at jewellery, the child was playing inside the store. She allegedly consumed a chemical used to test gold.

Her parents rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she died while undergoing treatment after her condition deteriorated on Friday. Medical teams attempted resuscitation and emergency toxicity treatment over two days, but the child succumbed to chemical complications.

Relatives Stage Protest Alleging Management Negligence

Holding the jewellery store management responsible for their daughter’s death, the grieving parents and relatives staged a protest outside the establishment, alleging negligence on the management’s part. Demonstrators gathered outside the outlet demanding immediate police action against the shop management for leaving hazardous testing chemicals unattended in customer areas.

Jeedimetla police reached the site to manage the crowd, restore order, and begin formal proceedings. Authorities are questioning the store staff and examining how the toxic testing solution was stored inside the establishment.
