Preliminary information indicates that the bullet was fired from Raj Lakshmi’s own service weapon. However, officials have not yet established how the weapon was discharged.

“It is premature to say whether the constable deliberately fired the weapon or whether it was an accidental discharge," an official said. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the BSF has not issued an official confirmation on whether the shooting was accidental or deliberate.

Probe Underway Into Incident

An investigation has been launched to determine exactly what happened at the border post.
