A murder in Maharashtra’s Thane district came to light after a woman allegedly confessed to the crime through a voice message sent to her landlord. The revelation followed weeks of complaints from residents of Neelkanth Society in Kalyan about water leaking from a locked flat. Police later recovered a body from the bathroom of the apartment.

The incident took place at Flat No. 104 in Neelkanth Society, which comes under the jurisdiction of Manpada Police Station. Residents had been reporting water seeping from the flat into the passageway for nearly two and a half months, but the reason behind the leakage remained unknown. Thane Shocker: Suspicious of Wife, Man Kills Her by Smashing Her Head With TV Set in Kalyan Taluka; Arrested.

Landlord Receives Confession Message

According to police, landlord Ajay Patil had tried several times to contact the tenants living in the flat but received no response. The situation changed when Patil received a voice message from the woman renting the apartment.

In the message, she admitted to killing her lover and said his body was inside the bathroom. She also asked the landlord to get rid of the body. After receiving the message, Patil immediately approached the Manpada Police Station and informed officers about the confession. Mumbra Shocker: Pregnant Woman Dies After Being Kicked in Abdomen Over Abortion Dispute.

Body Found Inside Bathroom

Police teams reached the flat and conducted a search. During the inspection, officers found a body stuffed inside a sack in the bathroom.

Initial investigation suggests that the victim may have been attacked on the head with a sharp weapon. The body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination to determine further details.

Water Leakage Suspected to Be Linked to Crime

Investigators suspect that the bathroom tap was deliberately left running after the crime. Police believe the flowing water may have been an attempt to wash away bloodstains and destroy evidence.

The continuous leakage from the flat over several weeks is believed to have led to the complaints raised by residents.

Police Launch Search for Accused Woman

Police said the accused woman fled to Kolkata after the killing. Three special police teams have been sent to the city to track her down.

Authorities have not yet established a clear motive behind the murder. Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the crime and identify all details related to the case.
