Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said, he heard there was a lot of criticism of Sidhu when he went back after his oath-taking ceremony. "I don't know why was he criticised. He was just talking about peace & brotherhood. He can come and contest election here in Pakistan's Punjab, he'll win", Khan said.
Speaking at the Kartarpur groundbreaking ceremony, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said the only issue between us is Kashmir, all it needs is just two capable leadership to resolve this issue. 'Just imagine the potential we have if our relationships get strong', he said. "The happiness I saw today was like of those Muslims who are standing 4 km away from Medina on the other side of the border, but are unable to visit it. But when they get chance to visit it, the happiness they get is the happiness they are relishing today", Khan added.
Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said the hatred between India and Pakistan can be brought down. "When the wall of Berlin can be brought down, then hatred between India and Pakistan can be brought down too with the opening of Kartarpur Corridor. It can be a new beginning in the name of Baba Nanak who said 'na koi Hindu na koi Musalman lekin ek Onkar'", she added.
While speaking at the event, Harsimrat Kaur Badal says the long unfulfilled wish of crores of Indian Sikh pilgrims has been granted today with the opening of the Katarpur Corridor. "It took us over 70 years to get a chance to visit the holy Katarpur shrine," Badal said in an emotional address.

New Delhi, November 28: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to lay the Foundation Stone at a groundbreaking ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor in Pakistan on Wednesday. This corridor will link Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, resting place of Sikh faith's founder Guru Nanak, in Kartarpur to India's Gurudaspur. Development of this corridor will facilitate Sikh pilgrims across the borders. Earlier, The Pakistan Government extended their invitation to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor. However, Punjab Chief Minister Captian Amarinder Singh declined it citing terrorist attacks by Pakistan. While Sushma Swaraj cited her inability to attend the event saying that she has “prior commitments" and nominated Narsimrat Kaur and Harshdeep Singh Puri. However, Congress leader Sidhu accepted the invitation.
