Kerala Shocker: Father, Son Abducted, Chained and Tortured After Daughter Rejected Marriage Proposal

A 53-year-old man and his 20-year-old son were allegedly abducted, chained, and brutally assaulted by a five-member gang in the Kilimanoor area of Thiruvananthapuram district. According to local police, the violent attack was orchestrated as an act of revenge by a man whose marriage proposal to the victim’s daughter was rejected.

The primary victim, identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Vadasserikonam, was lured to an under-construction building in Nagoor under the pretext of an urgent work assignment. The property is reportedly owned by the grandfather of Sudheesh, the prime suspect behind the plot. Anil Kumar's son, Achu, was subsequently lured to the location under duress, where he was also held captive and physically assaulted with tools, including a screwdriver and pliers. The captors threatened to kill Anil Kumar and his daughter unless Achu brought his mother to the location.

Taking advantage of a lapse in the captors' attention, Achu managed to escape the building and immediately alerted the Varkala police. Law enforcement officers raided the premises, rescued a severely injured Anil Kumar from his chains, and rushed him to a hospital in Varkala, where both father and son are currently receiving medical treatment.

During a search of the property, police discovered country-made bombs, gelatin sticks, a gun, and other weapons. Investigators also found a large, freshly dug hole near the building, raising suspicions of an attempted murder plot. According to police records, Sudheesh had approached Anil Kumar with a marriage proposal for his daughter two years ago. The proposal was rejected by the family, fostering a long-standing grudge. Authorities have launched a comprehensive manhunt to apprehend Sudheesh, his accomplice Shamnad, and three other suspects who fled the scene before the police arrived.
