Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for two metro corridors and CIDCO housing scheme in Thane. Later in the day, he visited Pune and there too laid the foundation stone for the third metro line between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar. All the projects are expected to cost the exchequer Rs 41,000 crore.
The Maharashtra government on Tuesday ordered a probe into the devastating fire in a Mumbai government hospital which claimed eight lives, an official said here. Another 176 injured were being treated at various hospitals. At least 25 of them is said to be critical.
Four transgenders, who were earlier stopped from proceeding towards the Lord Ayyappa temple, Tuesday offered prayers at the hill shrine under a heavy police security cover.
