Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that he would not allow anyone to play with the Constitution, especially regarding reservations based on religion. "The Constitution does not allow reservation on the basis of religion but the INDIA bloc, as part of its appeasement policy, is planning to give the share of reservation of SC/ST, OBC to Muslims."

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate highlighted key issues on Sunday and stressed the need for issue-based politics. Speaking in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, Shrinate highlighted the Congress manifesto and said, "Our manifesto reflects the needs of our women, youth, farmers, and soldiers. It's a revolutionary manifesto. Where are the jobs for our youth? Simply suggesting selling pakodas is not enough, especially considering the rising oil and gas prices." She also said that Congress' manifesto promises youth real jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.

Congress leader and candidate from Solapur Lok Sabha seat Praniti Shinde attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, May 5. She said that the saffron party has identified that people's support is not with them anymore. "We can witness anti-incumbency and aggression in people towards them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely address two election rallies in West Bengal over the weekend. According to sources, the first rally will be on May 11 in Howrah district in support of the twin party candidates from the district, Rathin Chakraborty from Howrah and Arun Uday Pal Chaudhury from Uluberia. The second rally will be at Singur in Hooghly district on May 12 in support of the three candidates from the district.

The complaint stems from a video posted by BJP Karnataka on social media, which Congress contends aims to dissuade SC/ST voters from supporting a specific candidate, potentially inciting enmity and violating the model code of conduct. Mumbai, May 5: In Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch area on Saturday, May 4, militants opened fire on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy, resulting in one fatality and four injuries, according to officials. The incident happened in Surankote's Sanai village. One of the injured soldiers passed away after being admitted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. According to authorities, a cordon and search operation were initiated by the local Rashtriya Rifles unit at the incident site. According to the IAF, the Army and police were working together to take out the terrorists responsible for the attack.

HD Revanna, the Karnataka JD(S) MLA, has been arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The team is investigating claims that a woman has been abducted by him and is also looking into charges of rape against his son Prajwal Revanna related to the obscene films case. The Karnataka Police have located the mother whose son reported HD Revanna and his assistant Satish kidnapped her. Prajwal Revanna, the son of the MLA, is charged with sexual assault.

Days after resigning from his position as Delhi Congress Chief, Arvinder Singh Lovely has joined the BJP. Prior to this, he had declared he would not join BJP. However, his action had already aroused rumours that he might defect to the BJP. Lovely refuted claims that he left the Congress due to dissatisfaction with ticket allocation. Lovely had also brought up the imprisonment of several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers in relation to corruption charges in a letter to Congress chairman Mallikarjun Kharge.

Due to financial difficulties, the party's nominee, Sucharita Mohanty, withdrew. The politician who was once a journalist claimed that Ajoy Kumar, the leader of the Odisha Congress, had asked her to fight with her own money.  "It is clear that only a fund crunch is holding us back from a winning campaign in Puri. I regret that without party funding, it won't be possible to carry out the campaign in Puri. I, therefore, return the INC ticket for the Puri Parliamentary Constituency herewith", Puri wrote in a letter to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, has been severely affected by heavy rains. At least 39 people have died as a result of the storm so far, and 68 more are still missing, according to local officials on Friday.
