The incident caused panic in the area, with some bystanders attempting to intervene. Another young man eventually caught hold of the attacker and pulled him away from the victim. The suspect then fled from the spot, while police were alerted about the incident.
Victim Dies in Hospital
Police reached the location and rushed the critically injured man to a hospital. Doctors later declared him dead. The deceased was identified as Ankit Patel, 28, a resident of Manas Nagar in Sagar and the son of Ramlal Patel. Police Begin Search for Suspect
Sagar Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania said the victim and the suspect had an old dispute. “The matter is being investigated,” he said, according to The Times of India. Police have taken the CCTV footage into evidence and launched a search for the suspected attacker. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the dispute and the events leading up to the assault. As of the latest available report, police had not announced an arrest. The investigation is continuing.
