Mumbai: 2 Dead including 8-Year-Old Girl After Electric Shock Near Ganapati Pandal in Lalbaug

Two people, including an eight-year-old girl, died and four others were injured in an electrocution incident near a Ganapati pandal in Mumbai’s Lalbaug area early on Sunday. The accident occurred around 2.20 am near the Kalachowki Vibhag Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal on Dattaram Lad Marg in Kalachowki amid heavy crowds during the ongoing Ganesh festival.

The deceased have been identified as eight-year-old Raghni Ghanshyam Yadav and a 33-year-old woman named Sujata. The girl was declared dead at Masina Hospital in Byculla. Four others, including a 12-year-old girl who remains in critical condition, were hospitalised. Relatives of the victims have blamed the organisers for inadequate safety measures. One relative said the family had joined the queue around 2 am but decided against proceeding further due to the dense crowd.
