A 28-year-old law student died and a woman was hospitalised after falling severely ill following suspected excessive alcohol consumption at a live music concert held at the NSCI Dome in Worli on Saturday night. The Tardeo police have initiated an official inquiry to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident. The deceased has been identified as Rishabh Gangurde, a resident of Mahim. According to law enforcement officials, Gangurde complained of major health complications during or immediately after the crowded event. He was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment. His body has since been transferred to Nair Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

In a separate but concurrent incident, a female attendee experienced similar health complications after allegedly consuming alcohol, including beer and whisky, at the same venue. She was admitted to Jaslok Hospital. Medical officials confirmed her condition has since stabilised, and she is expected to be discharged shortly. The Tardeo police station, which holds jurisdiction over the NSCI Dome, is leading the probe. Additionally, officers from the Mumbai Crime Branch visited the concert venue and both hospitals to gather data and verify facts. A senior IPS officer stated that while a narcotics angle has not emerged so far, investigators are withholding definitive conclusions until the final medical and forensic reports are delivered. The tragedy occurred less than two months after two management students died of a suspected drug overdose following an April 11 music concert at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon. That separate investigation resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals, including students and local peddlers, following allegations of Ecstasy supply and compromised venue security. Authorities are currently reviewing whether any operational similarities exist between the two concert events, though officials emphasized that there is currently no evidence linking the Worli incident to illegal narcotics. The investigation remains active.
