New Delhi, Sep 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a ride on the Delhi Metro to reach the inaugral ceremony of India International Convention and Expo Centre. PM Modi boarded the metro at Dhaula Kuan station, which is on the airport line of the metro network. PM Modi travelled till Dwarka metro station.

During his travel on the Delhi metro, PM Modi met some passengers, shook hands and posed for selfies with them. At the inaugral ceremony of India International Convention and Expo Centre, PM Modi said the convention will be like a small city within the national capital. It is a vibrant centre for domestic and international business, he said.

"This project worth Rs 26,000 crore will emerge as centre of attitude and energy of 80 crore youth....It will be like a mini city within Delhi. In one single campus, there'll be convention hall, expo hall, meeting hall, hotels, market, offices and serveral other facilities," PM Modi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

In July, PM Modi along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in took a ride in Delhi Metro ahead of their visit to the Samsung plant in Noida. In April last year, PM Modi took a ride in Delhi Metro with his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull. Before that, French President Francois Hollande also boarded metro for a ride while on his visit to the country in 2016.
