Rapido Driver Arrested After M*sturbating in Front of Woman Passenger in Moving Cab in Gurugram

A 23-year-old Rapido cab driver was arrested in Gurugram on Friday after he allegedly m*sturbated in front of a woman passenger while driving her to work, in a disturbing incident that has raised fresh concerns over passenger safety on ride-hailing platforms.

The victim, a software engineer employed at a logistics firm in Gurugram, had booked a Rapido cab through the app on Thursday morning to commute to her office. In a composed and critical response, the woman immediately began recording the incident on her mobile phone and repeatedly demanded that the driver stop the vehicle. The woman promptly alerted the Police Control Room and handed over the video recording to responding personnel. An FIR was registered and the case was transferred to Inspector Suman, SHO of the Women's Police Station in Sector 51. Using technical surveillance and cab-booking data, investigators traced and apprehended Kumar from the Bhondsi area of Gurugram - within just two hours of the incident.

The cab used in the incident has been seized. Kumar has been produced before a court and the investigation is ongoing, with police examining video evidence and continuing to question the accused.
