The dispute began when the corporator complained to MP Ravi Kishan about the waterlogging crisis in the city, prompting Ravi Kishan to directly ask him whether he had joined the Samajwadi Party (SP). "Are you talking about the SP? Have you become a SP leader?" the MP questioned during the call.

Tripathi, who represents the Betiahata ward, retaliated sharply: "Just because you complained about water, you joined the SP, have you joined the BSP? After 14 years, water is accumulating in such places where there was no water before. This is the situation. After all, why have so many drains been built, they were not built for water supply, MP."

Following this, MP Ravi Kishan questioned the corporator on ground realities, asking whether everything was running: "Whose name are you? Everything is running."

Corporator Questions MP's Location at Ramgarhtal Gate

In the subsequent section of the viral video clip, Councilor Vishwajeet Tripathi is seen standing directly at the main entrance gate of Ramgarhtal to demonstrate his ground presence.

During the clip, Tripathi stated that MP Ravi Kishan had told him over the phone that he was also present at the location, but pointed out that the parliamentarian was nowhere to be seen. Tripathi remarked that it is clear that the MP is not only lying to the public, but is now lying to public representatives as well.

The MP explained that continuous rainfall over the preceding 48 hours had caused severe waterlogging along with surface potholes across several urban stretches.

Accompanied by Gorakhpur Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava and municipal corporation officials, Ravi Kishan conducted on-site inspections of flooded sectors, including Goraksha Enclave near Taramandal and Tarkulani. The parliamentarian instructed engineering personnel to deploy high-capacity water pumps, clear choked arterial drains, and prioritize pothole repairs to restore regular traffic movement.
