Four men have been arrested in Bihar’s Samastipur district after a viral video showing the alleged public harassment and molestation of a girl circulated widely on social media. Officials described the location as the road near the Budhi Gandak dam/bypass. Initial assessments indicated the incident may have occurred about a week earlier. The girl in the footage appeared to be a minor. Her identity had not been confirmed at the time of the police update. Reports based on the circulating clip described a group surrounding the girl, who was with a male companion. Accounts said the men abused her, made physical contact, and pulled her as she resisted and asked to leave, saying she would call her brother. Police Action and Arrests in Viral Video Case

Due to the sensitivity of the matter, police conducted technical verification of the video. An FIR was registered at Karpurigram police station as case number 117/26 on September 24 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the POCSO Act, and the IT Act. Samastipur police identified the accused and arrested all four within six hours of receiving the information. Further legal action is underway.
