The health update comes a day after the Delhi High Court permitted his transfer from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta while hearing an appeal filed by his wife, Gitanjali Angmo.
In its latest medical bulletin, Medanta said Wangchuk was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening and is being monitored by a multidisciplinary team of doctors. The hospital added that his treatment is being administered with his informed consent. Medanta Hospital updated Sonam Wangchuk's health, stating: "Sonam Wangchuk was admitted to Medanta hospital Gurugram last evening and was admitted to the ICU. He is being treated by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors. Presently, he is stable, oriented and his vital signs are within accepted parameters. All treatment being administered to him is in accordance with his informed consent."

Delhi High Court Allowed Transfer To Medanta
The medical update follows a Delhi High Court order allowing Wangchuk's immediate transfer to Medanta Hospital. A bench comprising Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia directed the hospital to constitute a team of doctors with the necessary expertise to continuously monitor his condition.
The court also directed that treatment be administered in accordance with accepted medical protocols and with Wangchuk's informed consent.
Court Cites Fundamental Rights
While allowing the transfer, the Delhi High Court observed that Wangchuk should be shifted to the hospital of his choice in keeping with his fundamental rights under Articles 19 and 21 of the Constitution. The court also permitted his wife, Gitanjali Angmo, to visit him whenever she wished.
Wangchuk has been on an indefinite fast since June 28 over alleged examination irregularities. His health has remained under close medical observation in recent days, with the latest update from Medanta stating that he is stable while continuing to receive treatment in the ICU.
