Assistant Commandant Sonia Sehrawat of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) has come under criticism following an Instagram story she allegedly posted, in which she appeared to ridicule those belonging to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The alleged post came after she sustained an injury while on duty during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Monday, July 20, that required police intervention.
Sehrawat, known on Instagram as @3star_sonia with over 600,000 followers, allegedly shared a short video showing a cockroach on its back, surrounded by ants. The caption read: "Those who can't fix themselves and want to fix the country," accompanied by laughing emojis. The alleged story quickly drew attention and mixed reactions online, with some users calling it inappropriate for a serving officer.

Sehrawat was deployed to manage the student demonstration in Delhi. A video footage from the scene showed her with her right arm in a cast and sling, speaking to reporters about the situation. In an interview with IANS, Sehrawat described her efforts to de-escalate the crowd. "I repeatedly gave instructions from the front and also requested the boys and girls to maintain distance and sit peacefully," she said. She noted that pushing from behind in the crowd made control difficult. "If they do not maintain discipline and become uncontrollable, then it is our job to stop them."
She added that she was injured while trying to protect female students and that the full extent of her injury would be known after an X-ray.
