Kalyan, December 3: Panic ensued in Thane’s Dombivli on Friday evening after the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a mock drill of tear gas test at the camp situated near Indira Nagar area. People residing in the nearby residential areas were in fear as children and some elders started having burning sensation in their eyes and started having difficulty due to tear gas.

TOI reported that people started coming out of their houses and informed the local police station. TOI quoted Sakhabai Jadhav, a resident from Indira Nagar as saying that it was around 6pm when his four-year-old son started having burning sensation in his eyes and was even facing problem in breathing but after some time the situation was normal. However, many children also faced similar issues.

Another resident said that smoke was coming from RPF camp and it was only after police reacher there that residents were told not to fear saying problem will resolve in sometime. Railway officials say that the mock drill was conducted after proper permission from local police.
