The unique event fulfilled a childhood dream of the brides and brought together multiple sets of twins, making it a memorable occasion for both families and guests.

A wedding in Kerala's Changanassery has drawn attention for an unusual reason, with almost every key role in the ceremony shared by twins. Twin brothers Akhil K Thomas and Nikhil K Thomas married twin sisters Magi Mary Thomas and Maria Mary Thomas in a ceremony officiated by twin priests and assisted by twin altar boys, turning a long-held family dream into reality.

Held at the Changanassery Metropolitan Church on Thursday, the wedding brought together multiple sets of twins, making it a rare celebration for the families and guests. The event was carefully planned after the brides searched for twin priests to officiate the ceremony. 42 Grooms Arrive for Wedding, No Brides Show Up: Madhya Pradesh ‘Mass Marriage’ Scam Exposed.

As the wedding ceremony began, Akhil K Thomas held the hand of Magi Mary Thomas, while his twin brother, Nikhil K Thomas, stood beside him with Magi's twin sister, Maria Mary Thomas.

Adding to the uniqueness of the occasion, twin priests Fr Anto Pezhumkattil and Fr Ajo Pezhumkattil of the Kanjirappally Diocese officiated the marriage, while twin brothers Jeron James and Johon James from Pala served as altar boys.

A Childhood Dream Realised

The presence of twins in every major role was the result of careful planning by the families. The twin sisters searched for twin priests and eventually found them through a Church in Kothanalloor, which is known for gatherings of twins.

"It had been our dream since childhood to have a wedding surrounded by twins," the sisters said. "Our parents and family also wished for it. Jesus Christ made it happen. When we invited the priests, they immediately agreed to come."

Priests Reflect on the Unique Ceremony

The officiating priests said the wedding would remain a memorable experience. "Officiating at the wedding of twins is very special," they said. "It is an experience that gives us memories for a lifetime. Such occasions remind us of goodness and togetherness," they told a news channel.

Reflecting on their own lives as twins, they added: "They were born together and they are beginning a new life together. We, too, entered the priesthood together. These are beautiful memories."

The two brothers work in the Merchant Navy, while the sisters are employed in the IT sector. Although their professional journeys have been different, the couples began a new chapter together in a ceremony that reflected their shared childhood dream.

For guests, the event stood out as a rare and memorable wedding, while for both families, it marked the joyful fulfilment of a wish they had cherished for years.
