Video Recorded Minutes Before The Alleged Killing
The video, recorded shortly before the woman's alleged murder, showed 42 year old Saroj and her divorced husband Gurmeet Singh together, with a song playing in the background. The reel, posted on Saroj's Instagram account, featured the track "Yaad Teri Ban Gayi Sajna Ve Sade Seene Ch Nasoor," while Gurmeet was seen making a victory sign in the clip. Woman Allegedly Attacked Near Isolated Bushes, Body Buried
According to police, after meeting Saroj, Gurmeet took her to an isolated location near bushes and allegedly attacked her with a sharp edged weapon before burying her body in a pit in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence. The incident took place in Jandwala Mira Sangla village in Fazilka district.

Goatherd Hears Screams, Alerts Villagers
A goatherd grazing animals nearby reportedly heard Saroj's screams and rushed toward the spot. The accused allegedly fled after noticing someone approaching. Accused Had Sought Reconciliation, Say Police
Police said Gurmeet had called Saroj for a meeting on the pretext of reconciliation. Saroj had been living with her parents for around two years following her divorce from Gurmeet, and police said he had contacted her expressing a desire to revive their relationship and live together again.
Body Exhumed, Accused Arrested
Police later exhumed the body and sent it to Fazilka Civil Hospital for a post mortem examination. Gurmeet was arrested from the village in connection with the case.
