Mission staff alerted the authorities around 9:30 AM after Dhar failed to respond from inside his room. A team from the Chattogram Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information to recover the body. While initial assessments by officials suspected cardiac arrest as the potential cause of death, police have stated that a definitive cause will only be established following medical examinations. Aminur Rashid, the Assistant Police Commissioner and spokesman for the port city's police, confirmed that Dhar's body was sent to the state-run Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
