The Assembly Elections 2019 in four states - Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim - will be held simultaneously with Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday announced the schedule for the Assembly polls in the four states. The voting dates in the five states are April 11, April 18, April 23 and April 29 and the results will be announced on May 23.

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced that the Model Code of Conduct has been put in place in these five states from today. Voting will be done on both EVMs and VVPAT machines. In Andhra Pradesh, voting will be held in a single phase on April 11. In Arunachal Pradesh, polling will be held on April 11 in a single phase. In Sikkim, voting will take place on April 11 in a single phase.

In Odisha, voting will take place in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.

The Assembly Polls will be held simultaneously with Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Security has been tightened across the country to ensure smooth elections.
