Bhopal, December 11:Ā The counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018Ā isĀ underway and the results are expected to be out by afternoon. We are bringing you updates on the results for six MP Vidhan Sabha constituencies - Badnagar, Ratlam Rural, Ratlam City, Sailana, Jaora, Alot. It looks like aĀ close call between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress as the exit polls have not been able to predict clearly as to which party will win the battle for MP. While some exit polls have given the BJP an upper hand, others haveĀ indicated at a Congress victory. Voting for theĀ MP Assembly pollsĀ was held on November 28 in a single phase. Badnagar Assembly Seat
The Badnagar seat has been with the BJP since 2003. The 2013 election on this seat was won by Mukesh Pandya of the BJP. The party has this election fieldedĀ Sanjay SharmaĀ againstĀ Murli MorwalĀ of the Congress andĀ Gopal PanchalĀ of the AAP among other candidates.
Ratlam Rural (ST) Assembly Seat
The Ratlam Rural (ST) seat was won by Mathuralal of the BJP in 2013. The party has this election fieldedĀ Dilip Kumar MakwanaĀ againstĀ Thawarlal BhuriyaĀ of the Congress among other candidates.
Ratlam City Assembly Seat
The Ratlam City seat was won by Chetanya Kumar Kashyap of the BJP in 2013. Kashyap has been fielded this election too by the BJP againstĀ Premlata DaveĀ of the Congress andĀ Shankar LalĀ of the BSP.
Sailana (ST) Assembly Seat
The Sailana (ST) seat had been a stronghold of Prabhudayal Gehlot of the Congress until 2013 when Sangita Charel of the BJP won here. The Congress has this election fielded Gehlot's sonĀ Harsh Vijay GehlotĀ against BJP'sĀ Narayan Maida.
Jaora Assembly Seat
The Jaora seat was won byĀ Rajendra PandeyĀ of the BJP in 2013. He also won this seat in 2008. Pandey has been fielded this election by the party, againstĀ K.K. SinghĀ of the Congress andĀ Bhanwar Singh JhalaĀ of the BSP among other candidates.
AlotĀ (SC) Assembly Seat
The AlotĀ (SC) seat was won byĀ Jitendra Thavarchand GehlotĀ of the BJP in 2013. The party has fielded him again this election againstĀ Manoj ChawalaĀ of the Congress andĀ Advocate Vinod KatariyaĀ of the BSP among other candidates.
