Hyderabad, November 18: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana. In the fourth list, the party has announced the names of 19 candidates. On Friday, the party released its fourth list with names of seven candidates for the upcoming polls in the state. The polling in Telangana will be held in a single-phase on December 7. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. Unlike the Congress, The BJP is contesting the elections alone.

Till now the party has released the names of 112 candidates for the assembly elections. In the 119-member dissolved Telangana assembly, the party had only 5 MLAs. However, the BJP has launched an aggressive campaign to increase its foothold in the southern state.  BJP chief Amit Shah had kicked off the party's campaign for the Telangana polls on September 15 at Mahabubnagar.

Here are the names of 19 candidates released in the fifth list by the BJP:

According to data released by the Chief Electoral officer's office, the total number of voters in Telangana have gone down by nearly nine lakh to 2.73 crore for the Assembly polls. Reports inform that there would be more than 32,574 polling stations across the state. All political parties, as well as the independent aspirants, will have to file their nominations before November 19. The polling body will scrutinise the affidavits on November 22.

In September, the state cabinet passed a resolution for dissolution of the assembly at the meeting held at Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Immediately after dissolving the assembly, the chief minister announced the names of 105 candidates which will be contesting the assembly elections on Telangana Rashtriya Samithi’s ticket.
