New Delhi, May 8: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday said that polls will be held on April 11 at 168 polling stations of the Tripura West Parliamentary constituency which were declared void. According to reports, the re-polling will be held on May 12 from 7 am to 5 PM. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold public meetings and address gatherings in Haryana and Delhi. On Tuesday, the convoy of two prominent BJP leaders - Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and party's West Bengal President Dilip Ghosh - was attacked by alleged Trinamool Congress-backed men. The incident took place in East Midnapore district. Reports inform that both the leaders were unhurt. The incident happened when Ghosh was going to Khejuri with the convoy after doing a roadshow in Nandigram.

In West Bengal, out of 83 candidates across parties contesting from the eight West Bengal seats in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 16 have assets worth more than Rs 1 crore, while 28 have declared criminal cases against themselves. According to a report by IANS, among candidates who are in the fray for the sixth phase polls in the state, Trinamool Congress' outgoing MP from Ghatal constituency and Bengali film star Deepak (Dev) Adhikari, has topped the crorepati list declaring over Rs 31 crore of assets, followed by the BJP's nominee from the same seat and former IPS Bharati Ghosh with assets worth more than Rs 18 crore.
