Following the departure of the state security personnel, RJD party workers armed with bamboo sticks (lathis) gathered outside Rabri Devi’s residence at 10, Circular Road. The party loyalists, including a notable number of women, have taken up positions to manually guard the premises and ensure the family's safety. RJD chief spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav released a video statement characterizing the move as a bold refusal to accept an insulting arrangement. He alleged that the state government is repeatedly using security and official accommodations as tools for "political vendetta" to divert public attention from pressing governance issues. He warned that the people of Bihar would strongly protest if any harm came to the party leadership.
The security downgrade follows another administrative friction point last week, when the bungalow currently occupied by Rabri Devi was officially allotted to BJP minister Nand Kishore Ram, who heads the state's dairy, fisheries, and animal resources department. The ruling alliance has pushed back against the RJD's actions. Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar dismissed the move as political posturing, stating that if Rabri Devi truly wants to reject government privileges, she should also surrender her government bungalow, bulletproof vehicle, and the official facilities equivalent to a cabinet minister.
