Hyderabad, December 7: The much-awaited results for the Telangana Assembly Elections 2018 will be announced on December 11. Along with Telangana, the results of four other states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram will also be announced. But before the counting of votes on Tuesday, the exit poll results of assembly elections in Telangana will be held on Friday. i.e. December 7. The exit polls might predict the likely outcome as to who is likely to win the elections in Telangana. The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is going alone in the polls and so is the BJP. The Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Communist Party of India (CPI) and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) have formed the 'People's Front' for the election. To defeat the TRS, four parties including Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI have come together to form the 'Mahakutami'. On the other hand, BJP is contesting alone in the polls. In 2014, BJP and TDP were allies but since then TDP has lost 12 of its 15 MLAs to TRS. However, TDP had later joined the coalition with Congress for 2018 elections. Polling in Telangana was held on December 7 in all 119 Assembly constituencies. According to reports, more than 2.80 crore electorate are eligible to cast their vote in the state, in a total of 32,815 polling stations. More than 1.50 lakh polling officials, including reserve staff, are on duty. Voting began at 7 am and will conclude at 5 pm, except in 13 constituencies classified as Left Wing Extremist-affected, where the process ends at 4 pm itself. In Telangana, the assembly polls were originally scheduled to be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls next year. But, the Legislative Assembly was dissolved prematurely on September six following a recommendation made by the TRS government.
